Conservatorium Scholarship Winners Announced

The Penrith region has some very talented up-coming musicians and The Joan is proud to announce the recipients of the seven, 2017 Penrith Conservatorium of Music Scholarships.

Seven scholarships have been awarded in voice, guitar and piano.  These scholarships will help each student pursue their dreams of careers in music. The recipients range in age from 12 to 18 and are a lovely, fun and talented group of outstanding musicians!

The Conservatorium Scholarships provide these aspiring musicians with the opportunity to work with highly qualified teachers, receive subsidised tuition, experience musicianship and ensemble activity, and gain access to The Joan family of artists, mentors, courses and concerts – all life changing opportunities that will continue to excite and engage them in their joy of making music.

This year’s recipients:

Ms Rebeka Liepa (16) – Richard Bonynge Scholarship - voice

Mr Alexander Frendo (18) -  Mayoral Scholarship - guitar

Mr Victor Zhou (15) - Emerging talent in the local area -  piano

Ms Diana Babajanyan (17) - Malcom Borland Scholarship – piano

Ms Meg Whittaker(12) – Regional Talent Scholarship- voice

Mr Tom Masters(16)  - Conservatorium of Music scholarship - voice

Mr Dominic Hart (12) -  Conservatorium of Music scholarship – piano
