Federal MPs Help Drive Road Safety Campaign
Blue Mountains City Council has thrown its support behind the campaign, and has been joined by Member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman and Shadow Assistant Minister for Infrastructure, Pat Conroy, in backing the campaign alongside SARAH founder and President, Peter Frazer.
“Peter’s been an inspiration on road safety, following the tragic death of his daughter,” Ms Templeman said.
“In 2012, Sarah Frazer was driving the Hume Highway on her way to Wagga Wagga to start a degree in photography at Charles Sturt University. When her car broke down, she and a truck driver assisting her were killed by a passing truck.
“Peter formed the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) group and has been fighting for improvements in roads and safety ever since.
“It’s wonderful to see Peter taking his message to the nation’s capital, and being supported by so many Federal MPs from all parties."
Yellow ribbons and other Yellow Ribbon National Road Safety Week items are available by donation at Council’s customer service counter in Katoomba and Springwood.
