New facilities for students at Hawkesbury Independent School
The funding boost for the non-government school will go towards a $1 million project which will involve the construction of two primary learning areas, a multipurpose hall and a staff room.
Liberal Senator for Western Sydney, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, said the project would help deliver better educational outcomes.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities,” Senator Payne said.
“Securing this funding will help enhance the learning environment at Hawkesbury Independent School.
“Our Government is providing a record $314.7 billion for all Australian schools from 2018 to 2029.”
Senator Payne said the project was a part of the Morrison Government’s Economic Recovery Plan, the national strategy formed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This important construction project will engage a variety of businesses as part of the build and fit out process, supporting jobs in our community,” Senator Payne said.
“Delivering this investment in the Hawkesbury is supporting our economic comeback.”
