Over 70 artisan stalls from the Blue Mountains and surrounds including handmade jewellery, children’s handmade toys, children’s and adults clothing, handspun yarn, weaving, homewares, local art, stationery, candles, beauty products and more!

This national one-day event, held a month before Christmas, will see cities from across Australia celebrate the makers, designers and collectors that are part of the creative community selling on Etsy, the global online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods.

This is the second year that the Blue Mountains Makers will be hosting this event and promises to be even bigger and better! With more than 60 Etsy sellers from the Blue Mountains, as well as a select few from surrounding regions showcasing a diverse range of products: from children’s clothing and toys, art, ceramics, stationery, homewares and soft furnishings, body care, jewellery, fashion and more. Discover some of the high quality products our creative community are producing, while providing the opportunity to connect with, and buy directly from local makers and designers.

In addition to having the chance to find unique and meaningful gifts in the lead up to Christmas, the day will include live entertainment from local musicians, workshops, demonstrations and a free kid’s craft area. The Norman Lindsay Gallery provides the perfect backdrop to this event, which is all about creativity. Wander the beautiful heritage listed gardens and take the opportunity to visit the Gallery itself. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the variety of food and beverages that will be on offer from our fantastic local food vendors. Rotary will be there to help with parking and serve refreshments. Entry into the gardens is free for the day, however entry to the gallery does incur a fee. Strictly no dogs allowed.

As parking on site is limited, there will be a return shuttle bus running from Springwood Station to the Gallery from 10 am with the last bus leaving the gallery at 3:45pm. Cost is $2 per person one-way, children under 12 are free.

The Blue Mountains Makers Inc. are a group run by local volunteers. Our aim is to support our members by offering help and advice in the running of their hand made, designed or ethically produced small business and to promote their products to the wider community.

Anne Niddrie, Creative Industries Cluster Manager for Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise has taken a keen interest in our group & the Etsy Made Local Market, commenting that “The Blue Mountains Makers as a volunteer group are an embodiment of what MTNS MADE stands for. They are committed to quality, they collaborate even though they are often competitors, and create community and pride in all things handmade. The ETSY MADE LOCAL market will give fans an opportunity to meet the maker, hear the story behind the products, and touch and feel the difference of buying handmade.”
